A Cloudy Day

At Winter's edge,
A bit of frost on the hedge.
The temperature is cool,
This morning clouds are gathering.
It looks like today the clouds will rule.
The early morning sun is fading,
And the skies are turning many shades of gray.
That's okay.
It seems to drape the scene,
With a quiet, peaceful serene.
Darker and thicker they grow,
The clouds scurry across the sky.
And as they go,
They're getting together, getting ready to cry.
Now as the raindrops start to fall,
In my solitude I get to reflect upon it all.
It is my contention that on a cloudy day,
There's nothing wrong with it,
With me it's quite okay.
I really dig it,
In a quiet down-day sort of way.
