To Leave

Leave me at your gate this evening,
After we get drinks and change our clothes.
Let me wonder if I love you
After we nap together and watch a show.
Let me wait for you on the porch
After breakfast, then I’ll feel
Less attached than I do now.
Let me down with having to talk
After lunch, confessions to hide.
Leave me at your gate tomorrow evening,
When nothing is wrong and everything’s
Fine.
